Hi Jarrard! I'd like to ask your opinion before going into variations.
I'm leaning towards the second one because it's more unusual and has more potential to show interesting game mechanics. The "lone hunter" is more classic but feline/canine creatures always look cool... which do you think would shine the most in a portfolio? Thank you!

ReplyDeleteYes I agree, I think the second one is more interesting. I really like the flow of the body with the wings. Also there is this really nice contrast of the head and I think it fits well into the rest of your world. I also really like the idea of how they hug to the tree - that's something that would really really cool to show in your folio. Perhaps their head is a bright colour that contrast with the rest of their body but the tree they live on also has these bright coloured spots so they actually camouflage really well.
I think keeping the body fairly simply like you have here is going to be best and the variations you do should mainly be focused on the head design and colours. You could also try some close up detail variations of the hands as well, that will look great in your folio.
